Time to move on...
I've given my notice to The Brewins.  My last public performance with them is on Labor Day weekend, Friday, September 4th, at Otto's in Minocqua.  We have a few private parties after that, so my official last gig is October 10th.  I'd like to thank all the people that have allowed us to entertain them over the years, and I'd like to thank all The Brewins: Dan Stelzer, Charles Simon, Randy Gantner, Brandon Aarestead, Jon Tomcek, Tim Hasler, Brandon Allen, Jeff Janikowski, and, especially, Chad Brecke.  All of you have made me a better musician, and I am forever grateful.

Here's a little excerpt from WHDG's Bill Mitchell's blog (Thanks Bill!):

"Well, another Hodag Country Band Pick-Off is history. Congrats to SLY BILLY, winners on Sunday at the Crystal Rock. They are an awesome band, and will proudly represent 97.5 WHDG July 10th at the Hodag Country Festival Band Championship contest. Nice pickin' SLY BILLY!  Grant Dotter played at the Pick-Off. First time meeting him, and he's really a talented guy. Said he likes songwriting more than performing! Darn good guitar player, too. Galaxie Fritz is a pleasing duo from Forest County. Good pickin' and singing with those guys, too. Thanks for playing at the Pick-Off, hope to see you again. 2 Miles South performed a solid set for the crowd, and so did Tuscan Road. The "Tuscan guys" (as I call 'em) have really got all the ingredients to make it big. Awesome live show. Great musicianship. Thanks for playing for us, guys. And how 'bout Brad Emanuel...what a great, great entertainer. Man can he sing and play a guitar. Fun to watch and listen to. Ever get a chance to check out one of his shows DO IT! Thanks for performing at the Pick-Off, Brad!  Also gotta say hi and thanks to Mike and Doris and their bunch at the Crystal Rock. I really like that place. They are hard-workin' folks with a very unique, historic facility. Thanks!"
